Beginner Lessons
Overview
Beginner lessons are designed for students who are interested in learning a new instrument or better appreciating an instrument they already love. The curriculum is relaxed and flexible, allowing students to explore their musical identities in a comfortable and encouraging environment.
This curriculum begins with a focus on the instrument of the student’s choosing. With the help of their instructors, students will learn to read music, develop technical skills on their chosen instrument, and practice their performance skills in front of their friends and peers during recitals. In addition to helping students study their chosen instrument, this curriculum allows unparalleled opportunities to explore other topics within music if they choose.
Students of all ages and abilities are welcome to enroll in any of our Beginner lessons. This program is especially recommended for students within their first two years of music study, or any student younger than ten years old. Students may cancel their enrollment at any time or upgrade their education to our Preparatory lessons.
Scheduling and Booking
Beginner lessons were developed with families and working adults in mind, and so offer unparalleled scheduling flexibility. Students have the ability to book their lessons through our online booking portal with as little as 24 hours notice. Our rescheduling and make-up policies allow students to reschedule their lessons for any reason with as little as 24 hours notice, which may be waived under special circumstances like illness or family emergency. We offer extended availability to include late weeknights and weekends to accommodate students with irregular and limited availabilities.
Recurring lessons and one-time bookings are available to accommodate every student’s needs. Weekly lessons and daily practice are highly encouraged to ensure that students develop their musical skills at a personally satisfactory rate.
Pricing
Beginner lessons are offered at a flat rate which is displayed at the time of booking. Students are responsible for paying for their lessons at the time of booking.
Preparatory Lessons
Overview
Preparatory lessons offer a more comprehensive and rigorous curriculum for students who wish to advance their music studies. The curriculum is tailored to each student's goals and skill level and includes audition and performance prep with a focus on the audition requirements for the instrument studies programs at local arts schools. All students are expected to commit to at least one lesson per week and at least fifteen minutes of independent practice daily.
Our unique proprietary curriculum offers a comprehensive standardized approach to musical study available to the students enrolled in our Preparatory lesson program. Students choose one instrument on which to focus their studies. They then study that instrument through various musical lenses including technical development, performance analysis, and composition.

Our Preparatory lessons are designed to help students develop their musical abilities at an accelerated rate. To encourage this growth, all students are expected to enroll in a minimum of one lesson per week.
Students may book lessons with as little as 24 hours of notice and are welcome to book their lessons up to six months in advance. Recurring lessons and one-time bookings are available to accommodate every student’s needs. Weekly lessons and daily practice are highly encouraged to ensure that students develop their musical skills at a personally satisfactory rate. Our rescheduling and make-up policies allow students to reschedule their lessons for any reason with as little as 24 hours notice, which may be waived under special circumstances like illness or family emergency. Classroom Lessons
Overview
Our fully-equipped classroom is ready to accommodate students of all ages and abilities. Available equipment for student use includes:

Leave the commute to us! We offer In-Home lessons to better accommodate busy schedules and big families.
In-home lessons are available at the Beginner and Preparatory levels. Beginner lessons allow new students to explore fundamental skills and topics within music on their instrument(s) of choice, and Preparatory lessons offer a more comprehensive and rigorous curriculum for students who wish to advance their music studies.
In-Home lesson services are available for residential addresses located within a five mile radius of the Bold City Music Co. classroom. Please see our Terms of Use for more information about our In-Home Lesson liability and safety policies.

Recitals
We hold recitals throughout the year to give our students a chance to show off their skills to their friends, families, and peers. All of our students are welcome to participate!
Our recitals are free and always will be. We never charge admission or participation fees. Instead, we host food drives throughout the year benefitting various organizations in Jacksonville. We request that participants and audience members bring one non-perishable food item each for these drives.
All of our students are required to agree to our terms before purchasing any lessons. Our hours of operation, instrument availability, and terms are fully up to date on our booking portal.
